I was in India about a year ago for almost two weeks and I paid close attention to what I saw in the advertising there. I mainly saw .com domains with some .in but they were maybe 10% or so of what I saw on the advertising there. The majority of advertising on billboards, tv, etc were .com names.
I know there are a lot of people in India on this forum or others who have traveled there more recently than me. How has the adoption of .in changed since I was there last? Has anyone there noticed an increase in .in names being used for businesses over the past year? I think that will be the tipping point for the .in name.
As far as India in general I really believe the market will just increase. There are many very smart business people there with more and more coming online and there is a wide adoption of the internet especially on mobile devices which continues to grow.
There are too many talented Indian Domain Investors for me to mention here as well which is also important for a healthy growing market.
